To ensure that the natural traditional health professions function,
and are seen to function, at the highest professional standard;
To
provide an effective voice for the natural and traditional health
professions;
Fostering
close cooperation and affiliations between all stakeholders in the
health industry;
To
identify and promote the needs of natural and traditional health practitioners;
To
increase public awareness and understanding of the natural and traditional
health therapies;
To promote confidence
in the choice of natural and traditional therapies by:
pursuing
registration of practitioners where appropriate
ensuring
effective self-regulation where registration is not appropriate
pursuing
high standards of accreditation for the education of all natural
and traditional therapists, whether or not registration applies
to them
promoting
highly visible and practised codes of ethics
ensuring
that there are effective mechanisms for dealing with complaints;
Developing effective communication and liaison with government bodies
and the public;
Participating
in the development of legislation which is in the public interest,
including the opposition of legislation which, for any reason, is
inappropriate;
Ensuring
that properly accredited practitioners have access to the practitioner
products which are their tools of trade;
Providing
advice on emerging trends, issues, legislation - keeping members and
the public informed.
